Michelle founded VFH in 1997 under the original name Spanish
Translations, Etc. She has a B.A. in Spanish, a B.S. in Nursing and a M.A. in Sociology from Michigan State University. Her professional experience includes supervising a migrant clinic, coordinating maternal
and infant support services, coordinating migrant outreach programs, medical interpreting and translation, developing and teaching Spanish courses, and lecturing about cultural and interpreting issues. Michelle
enjoys Latin dancing, African drumming, and photography.
 Carlos Pava, BA

Carlos joined the VFH team in 1999 and became a business partner in
2000. He graduated from Michigan State University where he studied Psychology and Business Administration. Carlos' professional experience includes entrepreneurship in Colombia, coordinating refugee
resettlement, coordinating interpretating and translation services, and medical and court interpreting. In 2003, he was a recipient of the SBC Hispanic Excellence Awards. A proud father, Carlos is a culinary artist
and is always ready for a game of chess.

Scott joined the VFH team in 2001. He has a B.A. in Spanish from
Michigan State University. His professional experience includes directing adult/community education including migrant programs, coordinating migrant adult education programs, teaching English as a Second
Language, teaching Spanish and grant writing. When not in the office, Scott is usually travelling around Latin America, hiking or camping.

Pati joined the VFH team in 2003. Her professional experience includes humane society management, data entry, clerical work and founding a
non-profit organization. In addition to being a counselor/healer, Pati enjoys various crafts and she helps friends with animal husbandry.

includes business management for a non-profit counseling agency. An avid writer, one of her short stories and a poem were recently published in the anthology Many Voices, One Faith.

Erica joined the VFH team in 2007. Erica is a graduate of Michigan State University with degrees in Business Administration and Law. She has experience working as a legal intern with the Michigan Coalition Against
Domestic and Sexual Violence. Erica is currently a licensed attorney in the State of Michigan.
